Job Description
This individual is responsible for planning, designing, and drafting detailed specifications for creating a pleasing and functional interior environment. Duties include consulting with individuals responsible for the space to be designed regarding decisions on space planning, colour and fabric selections for wall, floor, and window coverings, paint colours, and furniture, shelving, and cabinet selections. Proposals for design work are prepared with regard to budgetary restrictions and customer or user expectations. Work is performed with considerable independence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, design and supervise major renovations, remodelling and additions. Maintain illustrative materials on available products and materials for selection by the user. Meet vendors, suppliers and contractors. Review interior needs with sales representatives and vendors to determine who can provide the best service.
- Procure/ obtain samples of furnishings, other materials for projects. Prepare final designs and specifications. Perform necessary drafting work and timely supervise the projects. Perform related work as required.
- Manage a team of designers, supervisors and contractors working on a project. Be in complete charge of Projects handled and maintain reports, Gantts etc. as per the requirement
Skills
Candidate Profile
- The person should have considerable knowledge of the practices and principles of interior design.
- The person should have considerable knowledge of the preparation of proposals and specifications for interior design work.
- The person should have knowledge of drafting procedures.
- The person should have knowledge and experience in designing interior alterations, renovations, and new layouts.
- Knowledge of CAD programs-
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D Drawings. 3Ds Max /Google sketch up Skills preferred
